Former Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, has temporarily left the country, as announced by his associate Otkurbek Rahmanov on social media through a video. The video captures Tashiev bidding farewell to a group of individuals at the airport, with the official reasons for his departure not yet disclosed.

Following President Sadyr Japarov's decision on February 10, 2026, Kamchybek Tashiev was relieved of his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the GKNB. Currently, these responsibilities are being managed by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov. In a previous interview with the state news agency "Kabar," the President affirmed that Tashiev would not hold any governmental positions in the future.
