Uzbekistan has successfully concluded negotiations on market access for goods and services with Canada and Panama, marking a significant step in its accession process to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The signing of protocols during the 11th Working Party meeting on Uzbekistan's WTO accession was announced by Azizbek Urunov, the president's representative on WTO matters, who highlighted the importance of this milestone in preparing the country for WTO membership.
The recent agreements with Canada and Panama add to Uzbekistan's list of successful negotiations with countries like the US, China, UK, and the European Union. With talks completed with 31 nations and pending agreements with three more, Uzbekistan is on track to finalize its accession process and become a full-fledged WTO member by the organization's 14th Ministerial Conference scheduled for March 2026.
