On October 27, residents of the capital and some cities in Central Russia witnessed a luminous object streaking across the sky.

Researchers from the Institute of Geochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences identified debris from a celestial body that descended following the meteor's trajectory through the Tver and Novgorod regions.

Initial examinations indicate that the meteorite is likely classified as an ordinary stony meteorite.
