Kyrgyzhydromet reported that air pollution levels in Bishkek have exceeded the norm over the past week.
According to the Environmental Pollution Monitoring Department, the average daily concentration of key pollutants in the city's air surpassed permissible levels by up to 2.33 times from October 10 to 16, 2025. These heightened levels present a significant potential threat to public health, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions. Additionally, the Ministry of Ecology of the Kyrgyz Republic conducted an expanded meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Improving Air Quality on October 15, chaired by Minister M. Mashiyev. During the meeting, the mayor outlined current initiatives aimed at improving green spaces and enhancing the overall ecological situation in Bishkek.
