A 23-year-old woman in Mexico City left her young child on the street out of jealousy towards her husband, who had left her for another woman. The toddler was left exposed to the cold for approximately two hours until a passerby noticed and contacted the police.

The woman was subsequently arrested and received a three-year prison sentence for her actions. Meanwhile, the child has been taken into state custody for protection and care.
