Mehmet Sureyya, the former head of the secretariat, officially passed on his duties to Ramil Hasan during a ceremony. Sureyya presented a summary of the work accomplished over the past four years.

The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) was established on November 21, 2008, and includes parliaments from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. The organization's secretariat, responsible for its operations, is led by representatives from these four countries. Ramil Hasan was elected as the new Secretary-General during the fourteenth plenary session of TurkPA in Astana, Kazakhstan, on June 12, 2025.
