The Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan disclosed the reasons behind rejecting Valery Meladze's concert in Bishkek. Meladze, planning a concert in Kyrgyzstan as part of his 60th-anniversary tour, faced acceptance in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan but was denied in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the ministry, organizers must adhere to specific regulations requiring a formal request with all necessary documents in advance. The artist's reputation is then scrutinized at both domestic and international levels, ensuring their work aligns with moral and legal standards. Meladze, set to tour Central Asia, provided assurances to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan authorities, pledging to avoid any "political excesses" and expressing deep respect for the people of these nations.
