One of Britain's top marathon runners, Russell Cook, fell short of setting a new record at the London Marathon. Despite aiming to finish the 42-kilometer race in under two hours and 35 minutes, he crossed the line in two hours and 46 minutes. Cook, who boasts 1.1 million Instagram followers, faced ridicule from his followers initially but later provided evidence to explain his slower time.
Cook shared video footage from his glasses camera, revealing he was stuck in a toilet for 10 minutes at the race's start. He cited feeling an urgent need to use the facilities, leading to the unexpected delay. The incident left him unable to make up for lost time, ultimately costing him the chance to achieve his goal and resulting in a disappointing finish.
