An FPV drone named "Hezbollah" managed to destroy an Israeli Merkava Mk.4 tank, known for its advanced protection features, including reactive armor. Despite this, the drone successfully struck the tank with a shaped charge from a PG-7 grenade, hitting the turret. The impact caused the propellant charges for the 120mm gun shells inside the tank to ignite, leading to the tank being engulfed in flames and ultimately completely destroyed.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability of even the most heavily armored vehicles in modern warfare. The Merkava tank, weighing up to 70 tons and previously touted as one of the most secure tanks globally, was no match for the precision and destructive power of the FPV drone strike.
