Scammers Dupe Moscow Pensioner, Stealing 28 Million Rubles

A pensioner in Moscow fell victim to scammers who stole 28 million rubles from her by posing as individuals needing to replace intercom keys. The fraudsters manipulated the woman into providing access codes and transferring large sums of money under false pretenses.

The criminals deceived the victim by claiming to be associated with key coding changes and a breach in her "Gosuslugi" account. Through a series of manipulative phone calls and messages, they coerced her into handing over approximately $256,000 and €82,000 to a courier for alleged customs declaration purposes. One suspect has since been captured by authorities.
