The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic has addressed circulating information about the investigation into Chui University, focusing on the alleged money laundering of criminal proceeds. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 222, Part 2, Point 1 of the Criminal Code. Investigative measures are underway to address the situation.
Chui University, established on a land plot allocated in 1994, has faced controversy as parts of its territory were reportedly sold off and used for unauthorized purposes, including the construction of multi-story buildings and fast-food outlets. Notably, a section of the university's land was converted into private ownership, where a luxury two-story residence was built for the Mambetkaliyev family. The investigation aims to uncover all irregularities regarding property alienation and restore it to state ownership as per legal procedures.
