During the session on February 26, 2026, the Jogorku Kenesh discussed the election of the first deputy chairman of the parliament. The parliamentary group "El Ümütü – Ata Jurt" nominated Mederbek Aliyev for the position, which was followed by a secret ballot. Aliyev received 74 votes in favor, securing his role as the first deputy chairman. The parliament has already passed the corresponding resolution.

Prior to Aliyev's election, Chyngyz Ajibaev had voluntarily stepped down from the position of first vice-speaker. In another development, Deputy Ulukbek Uzakbaev has now become a member of the Council on Judicial Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
